ILP "Design" - Creating and Identifying Shapes Prezi

Independent Learning Project

I chose to design a Prezi because I think they are super cool, fun, and interactive. I also knew that kids would love to see the way the screen bounces around and the way you can zoom in and out on certain things. It is a lot more fun than another boring PowerPoint presentation. I chose a standard that talked about learning how to make shapes and recognize them. I chose 3 of the main shapes that we use because I knew it would be most familiar to them to pick up on. I tried to color coordinate everything for all my visual leaners out there (like me). I enjoyed making it, so I hope you enjoy it. I tried to design this as if I were teaching a class and talking them through it.

  2. I think that this Prezi is very creative. I really like the font you chose as well as the background, I just think that each slide is a little too wordy for the age group it was created for. To improve, maybe link to a website that shows a video or tutorial on creating shapes that would appeal to learners, or an interactive shape site like https://illuminations.nctm.org/Activity.aspx?id=3587. I feel that this Prezi would be an effective tool for use in a classroom and I enjoyed watching it!

  3. I really liked your Prezi! I would definitely make it open in a new window, but other than that it was very organized. You made a great decision to start off with an overview and then break it down. Overall, great job! I am interested in making a Prezi for my next ILP.

  5. I really like your prezi. The layout is neat and I love the background. The way you used colors and arrows to direct and help students would be very helpful to students and also help keep their attentions. I think I may like prezi presentations better than powerpoints for lesson teaching just because of the fun transitions and the cool layouts.
